So I read the sticky all ready. please dont just post that link to me. I have the 7900 gtx video card adn haven't updated drivers in forever. I tried to go to the websites listed int he sticky, but it's all so confusing. There's a bunch of drivers but they dont specify which drivers are good for my card, or if it's all universal. I don't understand drivers.

I tried to download the drivers off the nvidia site, but they didn't work. Can anyone help me with the best and newest driver for my card please? Thanks.

The newest drivers @ LV2GO are compatible with the 7xxx series of cards.

Look I can't emphasize this enough. Create a restore point before trying to change to a different driver. First of all if your notebook is new with stock drivers, I'll guarantee that it WON'T downclock and lose fps when gaming on battery. But if you update it especially if the driver isn't released by your OEM then you risk losing the ability to game on battery and having your system downclock. And you can't solve the problem by rolling back to your previous driver. For some reason the downclock will still be there. So create a restore point as you'll need to revert back to it if the new driver gives you a downclocking problem gaming on battery.

edit: the only driver I know that doesn't create this downclocking problem from laptopvideo2go.com is Dox's 178.24 ver 1.1. I'm still able to game on battery, but the way I installed these is to uninstall your current ones from the control panel. then just install Dox's 178.24. People suggest using driver sweeper but I'm thinking it also has to do with the downclock prob since it probably deletes crucial registry settings that keeps the notebook from downclocking on battery.
