No, you have integrated graphics and it is soldered onto the motherboard. You would be better off buying a new laptop.

What notebook do you have? If it has the Intel GPU soldered onto the motherboard, I highly doubt you have MXM..

He's probably referring to a mini PCI-E slot where you would put in a new wireless card.

Just because there are open PCI-E channels in the chipset doesn't mean that there is an actual physical slot to plug a video card into. If your laptop doesn't currently use a MXM GPU, you can't just add one in there. Where would you fit the heatsink/fan for example? You can't plug in a GPU without cooling.

Also, even if it's a barebone, it still has a brand (MSI, ASUS, Clevo, Compal, etc) and a model number. We'd be able to help you more if we knew what it was.

You realize that PCI-E isn't just for video, wireless also uses mini-PCI-E.

Point is if you have GMA950 graphics, you cannot upgrade it.

you have intergreated GMA950 graphics... no upgrades for you....

BUT lets say hypothetically you could upgrade your video card do to your laptop having the SEPARATE mxm slot.... you would first need to know what version of mxm slot it is.... find out if the vender uses a modified version or the normal kind of mxm cards, and then find a place to find buy the card from... then you would need to see if your laptop would have proper cooling which might require the making/modding of a existing heat sink...
once again this is all hypothetically of course

But, what about putting a PCI-e adapter in the mPCI-E slot, and then output it to a desktop card? Or put an MXM slot in there, and then do output it to a desktop card through a mPCI-e to PCI-e adapter. Or simply buy an extension to put the MXM card outside the laptop, but still connect the card through the adapter to the card to have a link with the monitor?

You Should check out the "DIY Vidock" threads, because it seems like you may be able to get one of those setups, which would probably outperform a 130m anyway.
