How come im getting such low framerates in nfs carbon? I am playing it at 1024 768 res, stuff is on high not max and 4x anti lising. And im getting horiible fram rates from fraps yet it's not chopy but maybe a bit slow. It is playable and seems alot different then a fps game with the same fps. I am getting about a average of 22 fps and high 30 low 15. Specs are in sig. Is nfs that deanding?

You should be able to play that game at much better settings then that. I guess Carbon is just bad coded. I have read a lot about low fps in Carbon. Another directly input game from Xbox360
(Just like Oblivion).

its a pretty demanding game, but i would expect alittle more out of a 7900gs, turn off AA and turn on motion blur, you wont notice low fps as much with it on.
-
I turned off aa and it made no difference at all. Do you think its my drivers im using 84.63 i think.
-
Driver issue maybe...
Try install the directX from the carbon DVD.
If it doesn't work, try to install the latest Nvidia 7900gs supported video driver..

Hmm, I had the same problem as you did at first, I kept anti-aliasing on because I couldn't get it to run at native resolution. But, I managed to run it at maximum settings with a little bit of slowdown (usually 25fps, occasionally 20 and less) with a widescreen hack, which let me turn off anti-aliasing and still retain a reasonably smooth display. I'd recommend going to widescreengamingforum.com and searching for the widescreen hack, I used to use the same settings as you did but I feel that I got a little bit better performance with the widescreen hack.
EDIT: Oh and try switching motion blur off, it seriously reduces performance for some reason. It's not too bad without it, but if the new fps aren't too bad then stick with blur on. -
Well, I run the demo at 1024*768 with all settings on max and 2xAA (I think) with motion blur. Motion blur makes the action more smooth and makes the game look like the frames are better than they actually are. I was getting about 25fps average as well, but I didn't notice it at all. It seemed fluid. If you don't think the game is choppy, then why worry what the actual frames are? Just play it and be happy. That's what I do.

I have a x1400 and play this game at slightly lower setting (but with AAx2 on) and it is running at about 20-25 fps. Being a 7900, yours should have been better, but i guess it is just poor programing on EA's fault. Oh well, as long as the game looks good, that's all that matters.

I've got a 7900Gtx and i've played the game also at 1024*768 at max settings. (vsync of) I've got only 35 fps and sometimes 25 fps.
Now i've got a kind of widescreen mod so i could play at 1440*900. But that didn't work and now i can't turn motionblur and something of 'road reflection' on. The game looks a bit sharper now but i still have wide cars and roads. Since i can't turn on the motionblur and road refleciton i've turned vsync on and now i have constant framerates of 30 and rarely i get 60 or 25.
