    i was wondering if its possible to play non wide screen games in their native resolution on a widescreen monitor. i rather have 2 black bars on the side of the screen instead of having the stretched and looking horrible.

    Yes, you can. Just enable the "fixed aspect ratio scaling" in your GPUs settings.
