    i havent gamed since cs1.6, i got a couple questions about this drm stuff. lets say i buy a game thats on steam or valve, will i beable play the games 1player mode with out needing to be connected to the internet? or will i have to be connected all the time?

    whats the advantage of steam and valve?

    Valve is the company that makes the STEAM software distribution system and associated games like HL, CSS, TF2 & L4D.

    STEAM does have an offline mode available which lets you play without being connected to the internet, however, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

    Advantages of STEAM are having permanent digital copies of your games, the STEAM community (and associated features), automated patching and updating of games and whatever else you deem advantageous about STEAM.

    Personally I love it, I think it's great.

    u can logg in to steam in offline mode and play single player...
