Can anyone tell me which notebooks are available with the 7950 gtx?

Also, why is it that when I configure an Inspiron 1720 and XPS 1710 to near identical specs, except for the graphics card, that the 1710 costs nearly 1600 more? I don't know much about how notebooks are built, does it require more than just the card itself to make the notebook run the 7950 GTX (extra fans or something, i dont know), or does dell just jack up prices on XPS a lot since its their "gaming computer"?

    Thanks

    Yes, Dell jacks it up.

For the longest time, on many OEM configurator sites, you could go with the premade package that was the lowest of the chassis you wanted and upgrade it to the best it could be for less than it would be preconfigured. Now, Dell and others have gotten smart about that and instead of there being like a $150 advantage to do that, its like an $80 penalty or more.

Either way, if you want a kickass laptop with the 7950GTX in it, look up the Sager 5790 and its associated rebrands and resellers. Its the successor to one of the best/most popular gaming laptops ever (Sager 5760, aka Widow Sting517D, aka Voodoo u:734), its less geh looking than the XPS, and its significantly cheaper for the same specs.

Check out the Clevo Reseller Guide Sticky in the Clevo/Sager forum.

    Happy hunting!

I'd suggest XoticPC, Powernotebooks, Rock, PCMicroworks.

yeah I've seen the sager, thats probably what i've been leaning towards the most and will end up getting. I was just wondering what other notebooks offer the 7950 gtx since I have found very few.
