I have no benchmarks yet, but as far as i know, the 7800 will most probably blow the x1600 out of the water. If i recall correctly, the x1600 is a "mainstream" card, with specifications comparable to the 6800, but is small enough and runs cool enough to fit into a 15".

x1600 gets around 3000.. not sure on 7800, but it should be 1000 higher.. the x1800 is the equivelent of 7800go. however you'll only find the 7800 and x1800 on 17" desktop replacements.

The X1600 actually has high 3D Mark scores and can easily get into the 4000 range without overclocking (just check the recent reviews). It's most comparable to a 6800 which will give you roughly half the performance (not half the framerate though!) of the 7800. These were all from reviews, and in the case of the NVIDIA cards, these were clocked back to normal speeds since Dell underclocks them.

    X1600 - 4200 (on 3D Mark 05)
    6800 - 3400 (on 3D Mark 05)
    7800 - 5000+ (on 3D Mark 05)
    7800 GTX - 6500+ (on 3D Mark 05)

I'm curious to know where you got those numbers. I have terrible luck googling benchmarks for notebook video cards... And what were the screen resolutions for those tests?

The x1600 gets around 4000 (like previously posted) whereas the 7800go on the 9400 gets roughly 3800+. That's not to say the 7800 is not as good as the x1600. It's just seriously underclocked. If there's another notebook coming out with it, the OEM may let it run to its optimum performance and easily beat the x1600.

Where is zicky getting 3800? Where is Eliwood getting 6500? It's tough to believe one person over the other when no one can link to credible sources.

I would look in the Dell section if you are looking for benchmarks for the Go7800, maybe some are posted there.

The X1600 can easily get 4800 in 3DMark05 with a little overclocking.

I think that 3DMark06 would be a better judger of performance.

Yes it is *very* underclocked. This is from someone in the dell board... "After overclocking it to 380/850 I get 5380".

And thats actually still underclocked. The 7800go was designed for 400MHz. I would like to know just how far you can push it when its in the 9400.
