    I just updated my BIOS and the release note mention that the nvidia NB9E-GS video bios is being updated and the NB9P-GS vbios. What are these and what do they do? Can I expect it'll unlock additional pipelines and increase performance?

    Which videocard do you have?

    I am a bit confused about what you are saying or doing?

    NB9E-GS is 9700M GTS (high-end with 256-bit mem interface)

    NB9P-GS is 9600M GT (mid-range with 128-bit mem interface)

    Those two cards are NOT interchangeable and do NOT share the same GPU cores.

    Gophn I have the 9700m gts and this is for the Toshiba x305. I think this is for all version from q701 to the triple gpu q708. Here's what the release notes for this version adds/changes.

    Updated the nVIDIA NB9E-GS Video BIOS (VBIOS).
    Modified CPU thermal selection.
    Fixed: Can not set the user password with the HW Utility.
    Updated the nVIDIA NB9P-GS VBIOS.
    Made a modification to clear CMOS data when CMOS data is lost, as a workaround for a BIOS password auto set issue.
    Implemented Tj100 fan parameters.
    Fixed: System will be woken up by an air conditioner remote controller.
