hi guys, i am doing some research on nvidia and it's main competitor, ati. for a part of this research, i need to find the quarterly prices of the top 3 models of both, but i can't find it anywhere. can anyone point in the right direction as to where to go about finding them?

    thank you!

A 5870m i7 1.6 laptop is around $1400-$1600. Subtract the price of all components and you'll get your price

Asus G73 is the one for ATI... core i7 quad , ATI 5870 , dual 500GB drives , 8GB RAM , blue ray for $1600... nothing comes close from NVDIA's side..

Is this for desktops or laptops? If it's the latter then you're looking at MXM-compatible cards or something powerful for the ViDock.

are you looking for retail price of the cards, or the quarterly revenue from the cards?

the prices are hard to determine for mobile gpus, so perhaps try desktop gpus.

i would compare the prices between Newegg.com Amazon.com and TigerDirect.com for retail costs.

you can search between the gpus there.

however, finding the most popular models will be hard - perhaps check the 'reviews' and and use the number of reviews as judgment as to how popular the item is.

hi levenly, thanks for your reply. I can find out the current prices no problem, but i need the prices of 2008 and 2009. and i'm looking for both (the retail price of the cards, and the quarterly revenue from the cards).

The thing is, no card is really in circulation for that long by both of the companies.

no, no, no, no, i'm looking for price of the graphics card released by both the companies in 2008 and 2009 (i.e., prices when they were released). not the prices now.

The best answer I can give (if it can be considered good at all) is to use a search engine to find forums of people discussing the products and the prices. Of course you will need to know which products have been released.

If this isn't for work or school I wouldn't consider this project. Seems to me like a wild goose chase. These prices fluctuate so much from one card and company to the next, it would be difficult to get some exact numbers. Unless of course they are already published. ;)
