    hey, im looking for new desktop replacement gaming laptop? going through clevo lineup, i got bit confused :confused: . so which is better nvidia sli gtx 560m or ati radeon 6990m.

    I would say 560m SLI would be around 20-30% better than the 6990m with PERFECT scaling (quick look at cores/frequencies vs the 580m).

    But it also costs more, runs hotter and is has to deal with all the driver problems that SLI setups have. And SLI is flaky sometimes with some games not even properly supporting SLI so the average performance of 2x560m won't be that much higher than a 6990m.

    So I would just avoid the hassle and go for the single card (6990m) solution.

    Both SLI and Crossfire can be a piece of turd to deal with when they dont work.
    Negative scaling is one of them.

    Get the single card solution and get less issues.

    Since scaling aint perfect, they are around the same performance. And you avoid drivers issues, so guess what the way to go is the 6990m
