    i know this might be a stoooopid question..lol
    but anyhoo we all know about the defective nvidia graphics in notebooks..is it the same with the desktops?

    It's just the mobile chipsets.

    Actually, from what I've read, the same defect affects desktop 8-serie and 9-serie nVIDIA GPU's. It's just that desktops have more space and generally run cooler, so the defect results in non-working GPU's less often and thus isn't as big of a problem in practice.

    The 7300 LE in your sig should be fine - the defect doesn't appear to affect the 7-serie.
