    Lul. Isn't the 260M a 9800 GT and the 280M a 9800 GTX?

the 9800M GT has 96 shaders vs the GTX 260M's 112 shaders. the 260M can be considered a 9800M GTX. the 260M is close to the desktop 9800 GT. the GTX 280M is supposed to be nvidia's flagship since it has 128 shaders and is therefore greater than a 9800M GTX.

Is there 250M as well? I heard the 260Ms in the Asus G51 BB model (need confirmation on the other reseller's models) are downclocked though?

there are 250's as well but the aren't released yet. its called the GTS 250M, which is less powerful than the 260m. the one on the best buy G51VX is a GTX 260M.

the 260m can overclock higher the 9800m gtx. that's why i said they are almost the same. it's passing records that close to the 9800m gtx overvolted.

btw i'm jamacian also. but if you sound out my name then you will already know lol.

People are so biased lol... I think real world about a 10% increase in performance in a single maybe 15-20% in SLI... but we'll really only see by comparing the 260's and 280's in similiar systems through a series of benchmarks

In Europe, the GTX280M is about €250 more than the GTX260M - at least thats what it looks like on Dells M17x page.

For me, an extra 10% (or less) is not worth €250. Of course, if you can get it cheaper (such as in the US) then you may well decide it is worth the extra $

Same goes for Inforlandia in portugal and the Clevo-based cards they sell. Best of importing if you're in Europe.

In theory in SLI the extra sp's r going to make less difference so i would say that the difference in SLI isn't that big.

We need someone with 2x GTX260m to run some bench's and try the GTX280m clocks :p

Sli wouldn't increase the percentage, 'tis not how the math works. You're still looking at 10% at best. Sli 280M has only gotten 11,900 GPU in vantage, sli 9800M GTX had 11,000... 8%!

GTX 260M benches are about as exciting as a GM press conference.

I was wondering if SLI was boosted by the power of the individual cards haha. Thanks for clearing that up.
