i have asus n53sn with i7-2630qm and gf 550m and nvidia optimus doesnt seem to be working.
i do not have nvidia control panel in right click menu (when i right click on dekstop) and when i try to open it from control panel i get message "nvidia display settings are not available"
its a brand new laptop, all settings in windows and bios are default factory values, i only updated nvidia drivers hoping that might fix the problem (from 267 to 280.somthing) but it didnt help.
any ideas? any help is appreciated, i'm googling for around 3h now and i'm not one bit closer to fixing this
do you think clean install might solve this? i'm keeping that as last option even thou i plan on doing it anyway sometime this weekend

hi
i would contact your supplier if its a brand new laptop.
alternatively you can search for a list of all the beta and whql drivers > NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search
when you updated your driver how did you load the new ones. did you just download them and load it on top.
ive always recommended to do a safe mode install as if there are remnants of the previous driver still there it can conflict with the new one.
if you need a walkthrough just post back and ill help you out.
