I have a nvidia geforce 9800gts which Im trying to overclock, my question is do I just need to move the three sliders that say: core clock, memory clock and shader clock? Do I need to move the cooling tab or the voltages or anything like that?(if so; how, they seem to be blocked) and is it ok to have the memory clock to 907 Mhz, the core clock to 700 Mhz and the shader clock to 1708 mhz?

core- overclocking this generates the most heat-requires good cooling to be stable.
    memory-less forgiving
shaders-the least forgiving but doesnt magically gain much overclocked.

Core clock should be linked to the shader clock. Core x 2 = Shader clock

    You shouldn't mess with overclocking

Yes, but its a mild overclock.

You should be able to push it 850/1700/950 . (i wont be responsible for any damages as OC'ing is a black art)

I suggest you ask around what clocks people got for their 9800m GTS for reference.

Use GPU-z to keep track of your gpu stats.

Rule of thumb for notebook gpu's, never exceed 50% higher than the default clocks.

    Also keep temps below 80c

90+ degrees for a long time isnt good for any GPU.and i doubt it performs any better neither.

Have to thank the bad cooling the C90 offers for that. Currently running 77 degrees! I think powermizer is not functioning. Since I updated my bios recently i have had hotter temps. Before would have been 67 - 72 C on idle

I remember reading on a review (dont quote me) Intel said on their website that running 10c higher than 80c and you loose like 1 year of life or something like that. Im guessing it applies for GPU's too as its also made out of silicon.

heat will ruin any hardware over time and shorten the life.
sure you can fry a desktop PC GPU and just toss it out and buy a new one, quite different in laptop GPU's.

    You overclock-Your risk.

80C is a bit conservative for high-end mobile GPUs. Staying below 90 is my advice.
