hi lapdancers i am having a hard time working out vid settings as i am new to pc gaming now it seems that most of the vid settings that i could want high i can but for some reason i can't find a settings that changes the distance of the textures, things look good to about medium distance then its like smudgy after that, i want to extend it looking good in to the distance .thx for any help in advance.

Set anisotropic filtering (AS) to 4x, 8x or 16x.

'xxxx fade, 'xxxx distance' and 'distant xxxx'

set all of the ones that are labelled like those to on or as high as they can go, if that's not good enough then get an optimised texture pack. Quarls is a very good one.

That will only reduce the 'jaggies' not to mention will bring their system to grinding halt due to the amount of memory and memory bandwidth that will need.

No. You're thinking of Antialiasing filter, not anisotropic filter. Anisotropic filtering has very minimal effects to system slowdown, so far as to having a near 0 impact when set at 4x.

Indeed, my bad on that part but the OP still needs to change the settings I posted and make use of a texture pack. That is the only way to improve the LOD and draw distance.
