i'm not really a hard core gamer and so i don't spend my money buying games but i want to relax sometimes and play some games ocassionaly. That said, i'm asking members of this forum to give me some freeware games. Any kind of game will do (mind games etc...).

    Thanks!

Well, they aren't the greatest games in the world, but they're fun little games. Go to cartoonnetwork.com and adultswim.com and surf around to find the games section. I have played "Iron and Flame" and "Breakfight" a few times over, as well as the InuYasha turn-based game.

Indeed a cool idea for a thread!

I don't play a lot either these days but even when I was younger I had no need to buy them because there are so many former 'freewared' versions of popular games out there:

Here are some I still have on my machine:

    Adventure:

    Star Control 2 :
    http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

    Strategy:

Steel Panthers (and other's in the WoW series) :
    http://www.steelpanthersonline.com

Battle Island 2 (Advanced Stratetig Command) :
    http://www.asc-hq.org/

    Action:

Star Wars / X-Wing (Battle of Yavin, Battle of Endor)
    http://www.bruneras.com/

    hmm...

have to think of some more...

also, there are many emulators (ONLY if you own the real game..) to download, provided that you can find them.

Ignore the old-skool graphics. Its a throwback to the classic adventure games. Short, but sweet. Some head scratching going on! If you like it, try to complete the others in the John DeFoe series... but warning they get more difficult seemingly :p

    Chick Chick Boom
I posted this in TRT over in off-topic and seems to be getting love, so here you go!

    For the geekier gamer :p (It's a compliment m'kay?)

Desktop Tower Defense. Really, really good fun

Boomshine. Music is a little... but its different :)

Beyond the Red Line. Fan-made conversion of Freespace 2 (for those who remember it!)

    Impossible game
. Seriously, if you get 1min, you have my congratulations and respect

    There's also America's Army...I think it's still free...

Actually it had very good graphics and was a decent install, like for pay games.

BUT, there is a really addictive game in Online Boggle. I have lost many hours playing this

    gamehippo.com

Great site, with many freeware games. Some are actually pretty decent, and most you can play with any graphic cards :).

I recently ran across this strange "game" called Souptoys. Actually it's not a game even though you can "play" with it. Just try it and you understand what I mean. A little warning though: Don't be surprised if you find yourself spending hour or two into it and feeling like you were under 5 years old again. :D
