FIFA 11 PC Game | EA Sports Football

Game is days away and there is no thread here on Fifa11? Inconceivable. Is everyone here PES? Fifa has gotten a lot better since those early outings. 10 was the better version this past season imho, over PES. I haven't tried the demo, didn't see the point since I'll be getting this anyway. Only way I'll see my club win this season lol. [IMG]

I've never done a pc version of a sports game though. I don't know how well this is going to work out. I don't even know how to online game on pc other than Steam lol. But since we'll be playing LAN it won't be a big deal I suppose. Is pc ai better than console ai? I need a lot of practice, I really suck at these sorts of games.

edit, I don't like the box art though. Not just the people, but the fact that there are three. Trying to remember if EA does that for any other sport. I don't think they do. That's racist. Does the fact that the game is called "Soccer" offput Europeans and S Americans? Because that screams "American" and frankly we don't know this sport very well lol. I remember that World Cup in Korea when the American dude didn't even realize Beckham scored a goal, and he's talking about Posh. Lol not a good moment in the history of American broadcasting. I'd probably be suspicious of an NBA game with a French title. I would have to read lots of reviews and play the demo. Maybe France is a bad example, Parker is good. Denmark then.

No clue but we really screwed things up lol. It's amazing we didn't call ice hockey lacrosse or maybe badminton. It was probably something like, a bunch of Americans were chatting back in the late 19th century when news from Europe didn't reach us all that well, and some guy said he'd heard something about this hot new fad football, and then another guy said "oh yeah I'm the expert on football" and then just made up stuff. A lot of American institutions were built this way lol. It works for us.

But as I understand it we called football soccer because that's what the English called it (short for "Association Football"), and then when we started using "soccer" the English decided they'd use something different. That's what I've heard. That might be an American take on that whole story though lol. I just know Americans should never own EPL clubs.

No but I'm totally excited about Fifa 11. Career Mode sounds great. And like I said, PES is great but last gen Fifa vaulted into first place for soccer games imho. Oh and Milos Krasic scored a hat trick today so I have to sim that game asap. Only problem is no Steam version yet, because EA is useless like that. I don't have experience with EA downloads.
