i was thinking about gettin the t61 with the quadro integrated graphics, but i think i need a little more graphics power. will the nvidia 8m series ever make it to the d830 or the t61? if it does, will it be really epensive? i know i need more than integrated graphics, but i don't need upwards of 5000 3d marks like some of these new gpus. i want to play some games like quake 3, and i intend on buying better games like half life 2 and doom if i will be able to play them on my laptop. i will be using it as a desktp replacement, and i'm sure every graphics card is better than what's on my desktop now. i'm using a 128mb geforce fx 5200. basically i want to know if the 8m series would be overkill since i'm not a hardcore gamer, and if it is overkill, will there be any other graphics options available that aren't integrated?

The NVS 120M in the T61 will be enough for games like HL2 and DOOM3. Unless you plan on playing DX10 games, you will have no need for a Geforce 8 series or ATI HD card. A midrange Geforce 7 series (7400 or above) or ATI X1000 (X1600 or above) card will suit your gaming needs fine.
However, if you can afford the wait, then you should get a laptop with the Geforce 8500 or 8600, as that will make your laptop quite futureproof. -
how long of a wait is it expected to be? if it's only a month i can afford to wait.
also, i customized a t61 and threw in office pro 2007 for a grand total of around 2100. how much more would the 8m series add to the price?
and one more thing.....i see everyone talking about 3d mark 06...how many 3d marks would i need to play, let's say, doom 3 at full screen on a 1680*1050? and what about for half life 2 at the same resolution? -
id just wait for the T61p apparently that is coming with a much better card.

any word on the t61p's release date?

I didn't know that Lenovo is putting stuff like 8600s into thinkpads.
options besides 8m and hd 2900?
