I would say enough to warrant the upgrade.

    Probably about 25%-40%.

X1400 is a X1300 with a clocked core 95Mhz higher, so yes it should work and the performance improvment should be as stated.

x1300 scored roughly 560 on 3dmark 06 and the x1400 scored 900. i would say it would make a difference but not enough to go through all the work of changing out ur video card. i would try overclocking first if i were u. see if u can get that extra 95mhz. because thats the only difference between the 2. no extra pixel processing power, same size die, and same PCI-E interface. note worth it imo.

I thought about that and decided not to mention. I see your point and agree it is a way to go but OC always has a little danger of not working or damage. It is a coin toss! Are you going to tell him about OC an ATI card or am I. You have a valid point!

Um, just FYI but if you have the Intel integrated card you will NOT be able to use that.

EDIT: Ah, did not see you had the X1300 as per your signature...

    i thought the x1300 was 128mb whereas the x1400 was 256mb?

    i wouldn't mind reading up about OC'ing my x1300 though :)
