hi guys, ive been playing outrun2006 coast to coast on my acer 5920g laptop and i love the game but what annoys me is the way the game pauses for a split second at the end of each level,is this normal for this game or do i have a graphics issue,my laptop has the 8600gt at 256mb,most of my other games seem ok,i know outrun is a bit of a dated game now but im a bit of a fan,ild just like it run better, any views would be much appreciated, ive updated my graphics driver but has made no difference

i'm not trying to offend vista lovers or anything, but i do really enjoy what xp has to offer as of right now. i don't really care for the eye-candy.

does running norton still have negative affects on playing games?the only problem in outrun is the split second pause as you go from one level to the next, the harddrive light comes on as well as if it is loading something suppose it could just be normal, does anybody know?

Close or disable all AV programs while playing game is recommended

agreed. well, that one second pause might very well be the hard-drive loading textures/level details, etc...

because most antivuruses have tendency to eat up a lot of resources like ur ram and give ur cpu a run for the money... when scan is active, ur hard drive is also active, that's when u hear it working loud.

B'coz AV scan your background files and use some CPU cycles .Games load large sum of files to the memory & you can see some lagging when AV scan them while load into system memory
