Does overclocking depend on the power supply the laptop is getting?
I have the 9500M, and i was able to overclock but beyond certain frequencies i cant go further because the OC sliders bounce back. I wonder this is because of the power supply? Will I be able to overclock more if I remove the battery and run directly through the AC adapter?

This is more likely a driver issue than a power supply issue. Try using different VGA drivers and see if it allows you to overclock. Sometimes, your VGA BIOS may prevent overclocking as well, but give the other drivers a shot first.

No, you won't be able to. That mainly applies to desktops, in some ways.

The sliders are probably bouncing back because the OC program usually sets a safe percent you can OC to.

    What program are you using?

Well I'm using Evga Precision. I tried using nTune but the sliders were bouncing back to default settings and rivatuner had greyed out sliders. So Evga was the best thing I found but after certain frequency it wont allow me to overclock and i'm near the most stable clock frequencies.

try using nvidia system tools. And make sure you're system is plugged into a/c. If it's on battery vista automatically engages powermizer and that prevents any changes to clock speeds.
