i wanted to buy a lenovo y500 from a friends shop
it has a gt 650m
but since now lenovo is adding a 750m in the same machine i was wondering whether i should wait or buy one with a 650m
well so can i overclock the 650m to get
approx the same performance
how far does a overclocked gt 750m outperform an overclocked gt 650m
-
i think u should wait for the 750m, the 650m wont last you long.
To set an example my 3 year old overclocked 5850m is just as fast as a heavy overclocked 650m. -

GT750M is the same GPU as GT650M but it is undervolted to allow higher clocks. It comes with GPU Boost 2.0 which automatically clocks the GPU to over 1050MHz (depending on the notebook)

Along the same line, how does the 750m perform against the 660m? Lenovo y500 vs y580 is specifically what I'm thinking about.

so at same clock speed they perform similar
if i overclock gt 650m will it match gt 750m gpu boost 2
also how far will gt 750m overclock beyond the gt 650m
will the performance gain be less or about 15 percent
also can the voltage on the gt 650m be raised by any mod -
They are basically the same. If you overclock a bit, you will have the same stock performance. Nothing to worry about.
overclocked gt 650m vs 750m
