hello everyone. i was entertaining a thought in my head for quite some time. and you know, i have a pretty dated computer system, and would love to run the latest games.
1.7 gigs, 3 ghz p4, ati x200 256mb shared chip set
so the thought is, will i be able to overclock my integrated solution from ati to run fall out 3? i have a refrigerated cooling system (i have an open case that sits outside my house on my bedroom window sill, in the dry winter cold, so over heating shouldnt be much of a problem. im not the haphazard sort of guy, you know.
anyways, would love to hears some thoughts. im trying to find some kind of overclocking software so i can turn this dream into reality.

best thing i could tell you is try ATI tool, though i don't know much about OC integrated solutions, nor GPU's for that matter.
my babies don't overclock that well because they already spit flames out my vents. -

oy, but it's an integrated card, not a video card. not much of a fan on it or anything. heck, it's barely one inch by one inch in size. do you think i should super clock it anyways?

i don't really know if you can even change the clocks on an integrated solution. i assume you can just allocate more memory to it.
however, i think you can force run Fallout 3 in DX 8... i know many steam run games allow for you to force run it in DX 8.
are you running fallout 3 via steam? -

ahh yes, force running. i used that technique to run left 4 dead, of which i borrowed froma friend's steam account.
hmm, force run, hmm, force.. ad.
dear boy, levenly. i couldnt help but notice that you were a student of george mason university. id like to embrace you, because i too am a student of george mson university! salutations, fellow patriot! -

Back on topic, as far as I know, you can't overclock an integrated card. Even if you somehow can, it's not a good idea because those machines aren't designed to handle the extra heat (since integrated GPUs typically aren't meant for you to game with).
