Try going to laptopvideo2go.com and downloading new drivers. I had the same issue overclocking the 9500M GS on my ASUS.

*EDIT* Just saw you had ATI... Obviously LV2G is no longer useful, but i'd still suggest you search around and try to find a version of your drivers that supports overclocking, hope this helps*/EDIT*

if someone can help me with this. Also is it worth overclocking my processor 2.0ghz t5800 because max temp was only 69C. Thats quite cool if so can someone post a review on overclocking a mobile processor.

It's very hard and risky to overclock a CPU. GPU's on the other hand, are generally easier to overclock, so no. Don't overclock that processor.

i posed a reply to ur old thread which was moved so ill post it here in case u missed it

well i didnt try the 9.1's yet but i know with 8.11 and 8.12;s that if u set clock rates in amd gpu tool and press apply they would just go back to the orginal rates. if thats what happened with you then try thr 8.9's and that shoudl do the trick.

to test for artifacts use atitool and for stability i just played games with the settings for a while

to check temps use everest, 70-80C is standard,80-90 is highish and anything beyond this point is pretty bad. also try propping your laptop up with like bottle caps or something to "hover" above your desk to allow for more airflow,it shaved 5c off my temps.

    hope this helped

    thanks yodawg,
but I tried the DNA drivers with 8.9 and still no. You have the dell Studio 15
Also i noticed that you have to go into the administrator account in vista in order to even start the amd gpu tool utility.

Okay when i hit apply in either ati tools or amd gpu tool it would just go to the stock values, or orginal rates.
In rivatunr i dont even get a overclock option.
    Those are my issues.
