only way I could get it to load my game was to unload all of my data files. started it up and saved. reloaded all my data files and it worked for a few minuets before it crashed again. are there any conflicts with the 1.2 patch and the extra data files I don't know of? I mean, any particular file?

1. Back up your save files
2. Fully uninstall Oblivion and delete all folders related to it (Back up your SAVES!)
3. Reboot
4. Reinstall Oblivion
5. Patch with latest version 1.2.
6. Restore Saves
7. Play -
well the game did'nt crash with me, but after downloading the patch, i started the game only to find out that the ground textures(grass) were replaced by flat, lifeless textures. i solved it by reinstalling the game and downloading all the patches from scratch.

Hey guys I need some help. I have an Asus Z71V and when I update oblivion from the 1.1 to 1.2 or from the original 1.0 to 1.2 patch , I get these wierd graphical glitches. Like a Green Texture that sits about 2 feet above the grass but I can walk through it. Also the Screen brightness goes up amazingly high and some things are bleeched out cuz its so bright. The only good thing is my fps goes up from 20 to 80 (
) Please help.
Should I wait for a different patch and just keep it at version 1.1? -
There sure are conflicts with the patch and all those custom data files. When I patched, my ground textures turned to oddly colored pieces of the world map. I reinstalled Oblivion (after uninstalling it and then deleting the data directory) to fix it.

i don't believe that custom data files has anything to do with the problem, since i had none applied, it's mostly a problem with the patch.

Ah yes, I had to delete the Bethesda directory after I uninstalled... than restart my pc. I reinstalled Oblivion than. Applied only the 2 patches. 1.1 than 1.2 and it works fine now. I believe what was causing it was the Distant LoD Texture mod I had installed previously which would stay in the Bethesda/Oblivion/Data Directory.
Now my game runs wonderfully
patched Oblivion now I have problems
