    pc running slow after clean install

    well i updated the bios but i keep running into windows not responding and it goes retarded.

    write out ur system specs, please. in what order did u install the drivers?

    dell 1520
    core 2 duo 2.2 ghz
    8600m gt

    I did my video drivers then used the driver disc and picked the ones that i needed and just updated bios. Every program, even a simple install such as winrar is "not responding"

    u probably should. after that install in this order:
    1) intel inf files
    2) directx(or does vista already come with dx10(or at least 9)?!)
    3) video
    4) after that, everything else

    Mabey this is irrelevant but last time i reformatted my computer i thought it was running slow untill, i realized that i forgot to do all my optimization tweaks ;)

    the intel inf. files should be on the drivers cd right?

    well for some reason i have less memory available and i have no games on the pc yet when i used to have 3, everything is just very very very slow to respond and doesn't respond half the time
