I belive hl will play on it, but Red Alert is very old. I couldn't play it on XP untill I got the C&C decade collection.

I was wondering if I could play Sims 2 on my laptop from Dell Inspiron 1521 using Vista. I ordered 2MB of RAM. I miss my games too, but want to be able to play on laptop.

Good question! I tried Doom 3 on a vx2 with Vista ultimate a couple of months ago. I could not make it work, but i am not sure it was because of Vista. Has anyone with G1-laptop tried it?

As long as the game files fit on it, you should even be able to install it right to the flash drive. You'll still need the CD though (assuming the game normally needs it) unless you get a no CD crack for the game or a program that emulates a CD drive.

There are a couple of ways. The easiest way is DOSBox...it essentially emulates DOS, and provides built-in mouse, CD, and joystick support. It's a bit tricky to get set up properly (there are some add-on GUIs that help in this regard), but once you get it running it works really well.

I got all the classic C&C games to play on Vista. I have the C&C 10 year package that has all the games up to C&C Zero Hour. I was running these on Inspiron 9300 with a 6800M card.

It took a lot of tweaking/experimenting, looking on the net to figure out how to get them to run...but in the end, I was successfully able to do it. I should've wrote down the steps I took, but I can tell you for sure that all the C&C games will work under Vista.

I've run the Sims 2 and all of the Blizz games perfectly on Vista. The only Blizz game I haven't installed yet is Warcraft I because I figure I WILL need DOSBox to get it to work right and I probably won't get around to doing that until I can grab a USB floppy drive to install my old Apogee games
