just a quick question - how do i stop them from stretching? It looks horrid! There are no settings in the Nvidia control panel that i can find.

I want to play a game - max res 1024x768 on my 1280x800 screen.

    Thanks.

P.S - im sure this has been answered before but i couldnt find anything since i must be using the wrong words.

try looking here for the game you are trying to play, and see what kind of solution they have

If you go into the nvidia control panel, you'll see an option called nView Display Settings. Select that, and then an option should come up that says Device Settings. From the menu that pops up, select Device Adjustments. In there you can select Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling, which will prevent the GPU from distorting the game, by stretching to fit screen but maintaining the 4:3 ratio.

Also I would like to introduce you to http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/ , an invaluable source to see if some 4:3 games can be hacked to play in a widescreen mode of some sort.

edit: nos had the link, I missed the small "here" link in my scan of the thread. ;)

^^^Great resource. I downloaded the NFS:MW res launcher and now I play the game at native res no problems. Great resource.
