FPS developers would be kinder to left handed people.
i don't mean mouse/wasd sort of placement but rather the orientation of the character's weapon on the screen!
i wish there were more options for characters to hold the gun left handed rather right handed.
it may not annoy most of you since many of you are right handed but it really does make it harder for me!
i know counter-strike you could switch weapon hand, but in games like Call of Duty series, you can't! what gives! help a brother out:I
by the way, an odd note, if i don't sit in the left half of a movie theatre, i get really nervous.

There are a lot of theories/studies on how the right/left hand affects normal activities, you might want to do a google search and read up on some of it. I don't have anything to give you off hand.
Even though I'm right handed, I agree. -
I totally agree.(I also support ASUS's act in putting heat vents on the right side
)

@ mutjaba
Well, that sucks for us right handers. I'm assuming you're left-handed. My laptop's exhaust is on the right side and I sometimes feel the hot air coming out while holding my mouse. =/
@ theorist
Can't you just play like any right hander would? No offense to you, but I'm saying this because I have four friends who are left-handed and they play FPS games using the WASD format and with the mouse to their right. -
I can't see why you would say that, considering I know 3 left handed poeple who hate using a mouse with their left hand, AND it annoys the hell outta them when the weapon is o the left too...
Sorry to say it, but think making games show guns on the left hand only tends to probebly 0.001% of gamers..
And unlike CS:s which does it all choppy, and just mirrors it on the left hand, games that actually want to stay true to life would have to show the other side of the weapon, and do completely different animations, especially for guns that reload only on the left side. -
Or perhaps, the ratio is a lot bigger than that..... Perhaps it's more like 10+ %
Nevertheless, allowing the gun to be held in the other hand shouldn't be at all different to implement. You just have to mirror the weapon model. It's not that the devs don't have time to do it, I suppose it just doesn't occur to them. So it's a very valid question. -
Yea, I agree with OP, they should have the gun holding in the left hand. I am right handed but I remember that I had a problem with my CSS that it would always show the gun in the left hand, that annoyed the crap out of me and I felt eerie.
Some people have this as a problem some don't, same as some people like sitting in the bus facing the direction the bus is traveling and cant stand sitting and facing in the opposite direction while others don't care.
You will be happy to know that UT3 has left handed options -
@mujtaba Hi,How are you doing?!!
They should do something about RTS games too.just add an option to mirror the UI ,It's not that hard. That mini-map should be on right side if the player is left handed. -
BTW Jalf, your change in avatar caused me to unrecognized you for a while, lol. I see your are not a waffle ninja (I think that is what you were), anymore! -
True. Thought it was time for a change of scenery... And yeah, to be honest, I'm having a hard time recognizing my own posts as well now
-
(A.k.a. Salam
)
please developers... be kind to left handers!
