I am getting a laptop, and want to hook up to the TV. (samsung A650, 52") If the laptop is only 1440x800, will it still be able to output higher resolution to a "monitor"? Unfortunately it is a Dell Studio 15 with only a IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. I want to get to get to 1920x1080. It has an HDMI, since you can upgrade to a blueray player, so I assume it will be able to output that res?

    Yes,

It should be able to output that resolution.

Yes it will be able to as said above. The native resolution is confined to the video display not the display capabilities.

Hope that helps. And welcome to NBR!
