problem installing medieval total war 2

Hi, I have had medieval total war on the computer for a fairly long time and but recently whenver I click to play a sign popped up saying that there was a directx error so I uninstalled it. But now when I put in the disc or go through my computer and start blank.exe all that happens is a small black boxes flickers on then off and nothing else happens. Anyone having any ideas?

The computer spec is high enough for the game. Thanks

 

I am assuming you are on Vista. For some reason, Medieval Total War 2 does not work with DirectX 10 until you install this from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en That should fix the DirectX error you are getting, so the game should run.
