    problem with graphic card

    hi
    when i turn on my toshiba satellite pro a100 , i get a black screen(the screen is working but its black). i tried to plug my laptop to an external monitor, i turned off the laptop restarted it and on the external monitor i see windows loading but with floating boxes, line and blurry picture. it doesnt enter windows and the screen is black.
    i want to know if thats a graphic card problem because if it is i can change it (pci express).
    my graphic card is Schnittstelle: PCI Express
    Grafikspeicher: 256 MB
    Chipentwickler: NVIDIA
    Grafikchip: GeForce 7600 GO

    You started a thread in a wrong forum section, use hardware section for such inquiries. However by the looks of it you've experienced hardware failure and will need to either buy a new video card or a new laptop altogether.

    If it's still under warrranty, just return it to Toshiba. It's extremely difficult replacing the GPU on most laptops, and only certain cards will fit in your laptop (Look up MXM, there is a lot of topics about it around here).

    No more garantee thats the problem :-(
    I just want to be sure that from the symptomes described in my 1st post that its the video card that is dead and not the motherboard

    That's not a great idea: the Toshiba forum is completely dead at the moment.

    It's most likely the GPU dieing.

    Now you need to ask yourself if you're willing to spend money to replace the GPU, when it'll likely cost more than the notebook is worth.

    the thing is i cant even find a video card just like mine (256mb or more)
    i searched everywhere
    any tips?
