    small problem with riva tuner.
i have 158.36 nvidia drivers and yes, my overclocks DO work, i oc'ed to 600/500, and oblivion performance SKYROCKETED! ok but on problem, it seems that riva tuner needs to apply the clocks everytime i restart vista, well its annoying because in order to acheive my clocks, i need to allow it. How do i make it so windows doesnt try to block rivatuner? i want it to apply the clocks without windows trying to block it. thanks.

Have you tried turning off UAC?

what is that, i know this has to do with administraitor rights, i wonder how i can turn this thing off because i have to "allow" everything.

UAC means User Account Control and it can be turned off by the following steps:
    1. open control panel
    2. serach user account in the search box
    3. Click user account control
    4. uncheck "use user account control"
    5. restart

hmm... I'm not sure how to fix that though... But can't you just ignore that balloon which pops up? I'm pretty sure it will close itself if you don't click into the balloon for a while.

Nice, never really bother telling my security center to stop notifying me... I guess I'll do that now. :)

damn, i think my 600/500 clock was too far. what a shame, because my games end up after a couple min freezing, or show what i beleive are artifacts, now im scared and i went back to stock speeds, think i went to far? i mean other people had clocks even better than me. the boost in oblivion was nice :/.

Yea that means you overclocked too much... Just try to overclock less than that 600/500 a bit and see if it still freezes your game. It could be a driver issue though or maybe it means your card is overheating? I have no idea since I don't own a 8600M myself...

no, i went back to stock speeds, and the games dont freeze nor artifact anymore, its just in my opinion an OC too far below 600/500 isnt worth it, i need to let this lappy last 4 years so it was a bad idea to begin with. I may have OC'ed the memory too far, but i think the core is fine, yet i REALLY wish dell would have put the GDDR3 version of that card, that would overclock is unnessary :p
