    processors effect on gaming

    on most of today's current games does the proccesor really affect porformance?

    what about ram?

    ram more than processor...unless the minimum system requirements 4 the game is more than wat u have..then there could b a problem

    But the video card has the largest impact. Spend there first, then RAM, then HDD, then CPU.

    very few games are cpu intensive, and anyway most of todays cpus will do the trick. the rare occasions that i have had where the cpu was the limiting factor was when i had games requiring too much AI, example an FPS with a lot of bots at high skill level. but that is about it.

    usually gfx cards are the limiting factor. system memory also comes in handy in order to avoid swaping while ingame, that usually kills everything (choppy performance)
