is there really any difference between a quadro fx2500 and a 7950 gtx when it comes to modeling/animation in 3D max or Maya?

I believe the fx2500 is based off of the 7900GTX which isn't as good as the 7950. But I don't know if the better overall performance of the 7950 outweighs the fact that the 2500 is optimized for 3d work being a workstation card. The fx3500 though would probably be better then the 7950 for 3D modeling.
