I didn't know where to post this and I don't know if i missed something but i haven't found this in a thread.
What is the highest Power supply i would need to run the 8600M GT gfx card well.

Mobile cards run with very low power consumption. Any generic battery or ac adapter will give off enough power to run mobile GPUs.

okay maybe i should specify. I want to upgrade My desktops gfx card..specs below in sig. right now i have a 305W and i know that is not enough to run a 8600m GT. Note: this is in my desktop. I want to know what is the lowest pwoer supply i could get that would work well for this particular gfx card.

Well, a desktop 8600 GT requires, I believe, a minimum of 350 watts (I might be mixing it up with the GTS). But, you should have more than that. I would say 400-500 watts is the way to go. That will also leave you room for more upgrades in the future.

I would suggest going for an 8600 GTS if you haven't already bought. You can get it for about the same price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127287
As for the power supply, I would say ~450 watts with 18 amps on the +12 volt rail. -
nah don't need that one. all i need is the 8600GT. anyone have a good link for a 450W power supply at newegg.com? or tigerdirect?
