Mobile cards run with very low power consumption. Any generic battery or ac adapter will give off enough power to run mobile GPUs.

okay maybe i should specify. I want to upgrade My desktops gfx card..specs below in sig. right now i have a 305W and i know that is not enough to run a 8600m GT. Note: this is in my desktop. I want to know what is the lowest pwoer supply i could get that would work well for this particular gfx card.

Well, a desktop 8600 GT requires, I believe, a minimum of 350 watts (I might be mixing it up with the GTS). But, you should have more than that. I would say 400-500 watts is the way to go. That will also leave you room for more upgrades in the future.

A 8600m GT and a 8600 GT are very different cards. If you're looking for help on a desktop card, try the desktop forum.
