Whats the main difference between the Go7300 and Go7400. Is it the amount of dedicated VRAM?
I have the choice of going for a laptop with the 7300 or 7400, the ****ier card is alot cheaper however (~$500). I tend not to play games (might play command and conquer tho!) so do you think this will be ok?
It won't handle HL2 or quake 4 will it?![]()

The Go7400 is just a higher-clocked Go7300. Of course, it's advisable to go for the faster card if you plan to play games, but paying $500 to get the Go7400 over the Go7300 is plain ridiculous and not worth it in the least.
The occasional gamer wouldn't have a problem with the Go7300. It can play all of the newer games, but at low settings. Half-Life 2 will run fine. I ran Doom 3 on my HP (Quake 4 is based on the Doom 3 engine), which had an ancient GeForce 4 MX, and it ran fine, so Quake 4 shouldn't be that bad. If you have a dual-core processor, you can download and install the dual-core patch, which boosts performance signifigantly.

Thanks for the quick reply Chazman.
Im just looking at the Asus A6j and the entry model has a Go7300. I was thinking of getting the sony FE11h which has a go7400 but the asus is £300 cheaper (~$500-600). Im by no means a hardcore gamer and would prefer the 7400 but im not gona pay that much for it. I miss out on the x-black screen aswellbut it is £300!!!
quick question about Go7300
