hey guys, i'll just do a quick survey on what you set your screen brightness on your laptop. does it differ when you do gaming and when you do general use like encoding/internet?

my nephew needs some feedbacks specially in those people who use laptops in a regular basis. help is always appreciated. thanks! :D

EDIT: aside from your screen settings, i would also like to add feed backs about screen brightness experiences. i will break down the questions so you guys can answer.

    1. What screen brightness do you use? lets say scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the dimmest and 5 being the brightest.
    2. Do you change the brightness between gaming and general use?
    3. Do you change the brightness between plugged and on battery?
    4. How many months or years you have used that setting of screen brightness? (rough estimates are okay :D)
    5. Finally, with the settings you shared, did you experience eyestrain that you had to tone down the brightness a little bit?

    Thanks guys!

One notch below full brightness is most comfortable for me on my T400 LED backlit. Full brightness if outside.

Lowest brightness for everything except dark levels on games. Hate it when I can't see sh*t while being shot at. If outside (rarely) I turn it brighter than my usual minimal brightness, however reduced brightness saves battery and reduces eyestrain. The M14x does have a very bright screen to begin with though

I'm on setting 5 out of 8 on my laptop. I used to use full brightness but have found 5/8 is actually pretty nice. Then again, I've been thinking I need another lamp in the room for awhile, so maybe I just have less ambient light than I used to. I haven't been changing it between gaming and Internet.

At work I have my monitor (a different one) at 45% brightness. A shade higher in the afternoon sun would be nice but when it's too bright I usually close the shades, anyway.
