hi guys i just recently ordered a laptop off compusa.com the gateway laptop dual core rm 72 w/ 3gigs of ram , hdmi, 15.6 hd wide screen, 250 gigs , hd radeon 3200 w/ 256mb - 1406 with the m780g chipset all for 449 dollars including shipping!!!!.

ive been reading articles that the laptop igp and the computer based motherboard laptop igp are basically the same on a 45nm , which requres less heat, so both are on 45nm dissipates heat very well! now ive seen articles where they have overclocked on the normal pc moterboards this igp from 500mhz to 1ghz+++ and got way better performance from the graphics. They were able to overclock it by that much because its running on a 45nm compared to the 65nm which consumes alot of energy thus producing way more heat! from the articles i read that they only overclocked these thngs thru the bios ... but i believe there are softwares or programs there that should be able to overclock this , im trying to get it to at least 700mhz id be a happy camper!

does anyone have any insight on this??? i also read that people tried using riva tuner and ati tool .. and it didn't work but that was almost a year ago.. i hope they already have a software overclocking tool to up the speed of the core ..... o welll till then im waiting for this beast to get to my house!! im excited!!!!

well i dont have the laptop yet, should be getting it within 2 and a half weeks since im overseas... so don't know anyting about the amd overdrive but hope theres a tweak there.... will buy a cooling pad for this thing before overclocking lol! but there is well documentation of the radeon 3200 igp on the normal pc based motherboards running at 850-1+ghz ... the chipsets on the laptoop and the normal pc are basically the same.... so thats why i wanna overclock this thing. i mean it runs gta iv on a regular pc when overclocked really fast if you check them out on youtube.
