Heh, typical of R6 Vegas, really demanding on any medium-high lappy. This is expected performance from a 7900GS Go, I think I remember having my settings on medium with HDR & all the effects on, but with shadows either off or low if the performance hit is bearable for you. Best thing to do though to improve FPS would no doubt be to turn off shadows.
I don't know if widescreen is supported in the latest patch as I never used it, howevere go to www.widescreengamingforum.com and search for a R6 Vegas solution. It enabled perfect widescreen support at 1440x900 apart from the HUD staying centred on the screen, but it did decrease the FPS quite a lot. -

Well, I'm playing the game on lowest setting right now. With 8600MGT, 1.8GHz 2Core, and 1GB RAM.
Don't bother patching unless all you're going to play is multiplayer. I didn't, because I only go on multiplayer once in a while.
Here's the thing you can download (< 1MB) for widescreen support.

Ugh... Rainbow Six Vegas.
My system, which has an AMD X2 4200+,8800GTS 640MB,2 Gigabytes of DDR2 800 RAM and 2 7400 SATA 3.0 drives in RAID 0 had trouble running that game on high. It seems they did a very poor job of optimizing that game.
