    Hi guys,

Got myself a G1 recently, last PC games played were Diablo 2 and CS. So been out of the gaming scene for quite some time.

Browsed thru IGN and I'm looking at the following games now: Company of Heroes and Medieval II, and maybe Battlefield 2142.

Can my laptop support these games and are they any good? Any games to introduce? I kind of like those multiplayer online games.

    Thanks all!

Well, if you get into BattleField 2, you probably won't see your friends for awhile unless they play it too.

FEAR is great. Play it with the lights out and sound up. Your 7700 will allow you to keep soft shadows and the like. Keep a fresh change of underwear nearby.

Medieval II is graphically superior to any other RTS on the market, can't argue with the epic nature of both its campaigns and battles, although there were some major AI issues when I played it so I kind of stopped.

Oblivion is widely acclaimed to be the best looking game out period, although even on a 7700 Go you will notice lag and frame rate drops unless you tone down some settings.

NFS:Carbon will get you pumped up with its wild races and police pursuits. If you only play it a couple of hours a week it gives a good adrenaline rush. Just skip past the canyon drift nonsense and you'll have a lot more fun.

CS:S will play great on your G1, but lately hacking has been a big issue. Just be sure to play on a server with a nice, friendly admin.

Dawn of War + expansions/Company of Heroes for great RTS play.

F.E.A.R. and Battlefield 2 or 2142 for great FPS play.

Civilization 4 for a great turn based game. Plus it's a much easier interface to get used to compared to Civ 3.

Guild Wars + expansions if you want a good MMORPG (I chose to skip WoW). You can play for an hour, finish a few quests then put the game away without having to stay on for four hours to do anything.

Ahh Another Diablo 2 fan as myself.

Well here's what I play and recommend:

World Of Warcraft: If you have the time and you enjoy MMO's. Simply Great IMO

Counter Strike Source: Even though Loyal 1.6 fans won't touch this, I was one to cross over. Sure the hit boxes are a little messed up, but it looks good (minus guerilla warfare player model) and it can be fun. I have a fun 24/7 Office Server that I go to often with bank/bet/ and a few other non-annoying mods.

Battlefield 2142: My girlfriend recently bought this for me, and I do play it, but less frequent. It's good for an hour break from WoW or what ever, but sometimes it's down right annoying.

Quake 4: If you're not online, I'd suggets run through this single player, I enjoyed it.

Battle for Middle Earth 1 and 2: great for RTS, Played the 1st on PC and loved it, 2nd on xbox 360, took some getting used to, but still very good with a few new changes.

    GO OLD SCHOOL:

    For some olds school try
Day of Defeat - always fun minus the campers
Red Alert 2 - I played this game to death
    Half - Life DM

Well that's about all I got, any will provide you with great ways to waste time!

Go find a copy of Deus Ex and play through it again. Eventually try to make it through the game with minimal killing, or using only swords, etc. Friend made it through the whole game on the second hardest setting using only striking weapons after like the first level. The crowbar doesn't get you very far in the first level, lol.
