I have a IBM thinkpad which uses a 7500 ati radeon video card. i want to run Command and Conquer 3 but the video card does not reach it's requirements. i posted a reply to a previous topic "http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=5083119#post5083119" yet nobody responded. I have 3d analyzer, i do not know what SoftShader is or where to get it. if someone has the same problem and fixed this can you please help? Like what settings should i put 3D analyzer to run C&C 3 or what to do with Softshader? Thnx! much appreciated. I would have pm'd kiketsu or matt but im new to this forum so i dont know how =(

I believe it is because the game is looking for programmable shader capability which the 7500 does not have.

In 3D-Analyzer there should be a check box under 'Hardware Limits (cap bits)' that shows 'Emulate pixel shader caps'. Check that box and see what it does. You can also try under 'ANTI-DETECT MODE' the 'shaders' box to see if the game will overlook the shader capabilities of your card. If that doesn't work you can also see if you can get it to work by using the 'force reference rast.' option under 'misc', but because that will force it into software rendering it may run really slow.

Your efforts will probably all end in vain. The ATI 7500 is technology from almost a decade ago and far too old to run anything modern.

Budding is right, there is no way the 7500 will even come close to being able to Handle Red Alert 3.

If you really want to play it, you will have to upgrade the laptop
