Nope, you can set your desktop and gaming resolution separately.

how do games run at ur computers native resolution joga? what games do u play and can u play all of them at that res at a decent framerate with ur GPU

Well, I don't quite have my laptop yet (coming Wednesday
), but when I get it I'll be posting a review over on the Sager forums with some very thorough gaming benchmarks. Although from what I know so far, I think I'll have playable framerates at 1920x1200 even in games like FEAR or Call of Duty 2, but I'll probably bump it down to 1680x1050 or 1440x900 to get very smooth framerates (without much quality loss).

A single 7950GTX can handle FEAR with minimal AA fine, (you won't need AA neway with a 17' wuxga screen)

and there is no problem in running a game at a non native resolution?
if you run OS in non native resolution you might get blur or stuff, so this doesnt happen in games?
I want to know this cause it will decide the type of screen resolution that will come with my new lappy (still choosing) =) -
On the desktop however, it is good to stay at native resolution since you have to read small, sharp text (unlike like gaming, where its just moving pictures).
resolution question!
