hi
ive seen threads dedicated to both dox's drivers and the 8600 gs
but ive never seen anyone review the performance of the dox driver on the 8600 gs
was wondering what would be the max oc options for a 8600 gs
i searched the forum and found most threads re 8600 used the old 169s and 178s and none on dox's 182.05
thanks in advance

find it yourself,
run a gfx demanding software in window mode, (i recommend furmark)
slowly increase volts and watch for artifacts, as soon as u see them lower by one or 2 steps to get highest oc -
Volts? I guess you mean frequency.
Anyway i would recommend you use riva tuner for overclock and use AtiTool's built in artifact scanner, since there are artifacts that you can't see are there. Overclock cannot be generalized it’s highly dependent on your card, cooling system etc. If someone gets to one frequency it doesn’t mean what you will get the same as well. As far as safe overclock, well as long as you keep your temperature within normal limits (stock even better) you should be fine. I would recommend HWMonitor for temperature monitoring or GPU-Z -
Overclock by 4

hi thatnks for the advice
im already using hwmonitor atitools and rivatuner to overclock and monitor.
apparently the 8600 gs overclocks quite well compared to its stock values
i read in another forum that you can get it to 680/i forgot shader/1000
i have only been able to get it to 635/900 with decent tmps a little more than that and the driver seems to fail sometimes
you think the failing driver could be due to the overclock or something else? -
what do u mean by this?

Take note that the memory does not have a temperature sensor. Some people have friend their GPUs because the memory burned up while the core temps were within safe ranges.
safest oc for dox 182.05 on a 8600 gs
