i just downloaded the new omega drivers, and now when i play games the screen is messed up. hl2 has black bars ala widescreen (not too annoying) but bf2 has black bars on the side, making it a square, and i cant find anything to make it widescreen. is anyone else having this problem? and would the new ati drivers be better than the omega?

Have you deleted the old ATi drivers? If you dont, it could cause conflict issues.

uninstall all the drivers then install the omegas from scratch. it is the best way to avoid problems.

What you're probably running into is the new Omega's scale without changing the aspect, and previously they changed aspect and stretched the picture to fit the screen. It's generally regarded as a Good Thing (tm).
You should check out http://www.widescreengamingforums.com and see if there's a patch/edit/hack for BF2 that'll make it take advantage of your widescreen LCD.

You can change the option in the CCC. You can make it switch back to stretch mode.
