I just bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and now I am having some severe problems trying to play it (see screenshots). Some of the objects "drag" along in the sky. Any help would really be appreciated.

    My spec:
    Sony SZ
    1.83 Core Duo
    Geforce 7400go (128 MB)
    1 gig RAM

if this isnt a common problem in the game then its an issue with ur graphics card. try using a different driver or if u can try underclocking the card to see if the issue goes away

That's definitely a driver problem. My guess is that you're running Vista using the WDDM (default) video driver? I had a similar problem in UT2004 under those circumstances on my Go6800. Go here and download the appropriate driver (the 32-bit 101.41 for Vista, or probably the 94.20s would be best for XP).

If that fails, can you give us some more information about your system? Which OS you're using would be very helpful.

I am actually running xp 32bit. I tried the 94.20 driver (among others) but I still have the same problem. This is also the only game where this happens.

Hmm, odd. I'd suggest trying to reinstall the game as well as your graphics drivers. If that doesn't help (or maybe even before trying that), make sure your video card isn't overheating. You can check that with nTune's "Performance" page in the new nVidia control panel, or if you're using the classic control panel (my preference) go to "Temperature Settings" and look what it says. Try that again by alt-tabbing out during gameplay and see what it says. You might have a heat issue, although it's doubtful if other games have no artifacts.

Also, are you overclocking anything at all? That might also be a culprit.

I reinstalled the game as well as the drivers, still nothing. My graphic card is not oced and it doesn't overheat since I use a cooling pad. Guess I will have to wait for a patch to come out.
Thank you all for the help!!!

I think they need another patch. I have the first one installed and I still have problems. Not graphical as of now, but when I load my last save when I start up the game I get the BSOD and my comp crashes. If I load my second to the last save I am good. It's really odd.
