Hi! Plz help me,i have a strange problem. When i connected my nw9440 with friends laptop, and start playing cod2 after 10 minutes my laptop crashed.that happened about 4 times in 1 hour.and the strange thin is that my network adapter still worked even my computer was turned off.Any ideas?

Can it be some hardware or software issue?

    Thx

Overheating possible, check your tempratures if you can. but if it is only doing it on COD2 when on lan its an issue with the game i would think or a setting on the notebook itself.

i think its not overheating because that day in the morning i was playing cod2 with another friend for 2 hours and it was fine. And in the evening i was playing cod2 for 1 hour and it was fine too.
Could it be that something was wrong with the network or his adapter?or perhaps installed windows which came with the laptop? (i didnt make fresh install) ?

Or perhaps nw 9440 was shutting down because of some sort of security reasons? Can you tell me where can i find these settings?

This is my first laptop so sorry if i sound like noob,

    thx guys

Does the notebook shutdown when normally on the LAN. If so, then it may well be a LAN problem. It may be a good idea to install the latest drivers for the LAN card, and see if that makes a diffrence. Hope this helps.

Have you tried playing any other games on the machine? It might be the game. Make sure you download the latest patch for the game and install it:
    http://www.callofduty.com/patch/

Also do a manual Windows Update. Start, Programs, Windows Update, then do a Custom scan.

I have the latest cod2 patch.Perhaps it was the reason that happened because that other model was pavilion something (he bought it in the usa) and that model can not be bought in my country? Because on other lan parties it works fine...so it must have been something with its laptop or my windows

at that time i didint have any firewall installed..

You were right.it was cod2.when i connected my nw9440 again with my friends laptop and install cod 2 on his laptop (the first time we didint install it,we just copied it from my laptop to his) he couldnt run cod because he received error massages (problems with his memory, although its ok).So we play another games and it was ok.Until the end when we managed to run cod and it was ok then.

    Thx guys :D
