I'm strating to get really frustrated. Bought my laptop a couple of months ago and there been several Mobility Catalyst Releases since then, but still no support for mobility x1600. And LG has no updated drivers either... Posted about this before but this is getting really frustrating... The drivers i use now date back a while (January) and came with the laptop. They work but i notice many artifacts and glitches and stuff not rendering correctly. Both when working in 3D programs, and playing games...

Modded drivers, and Omega drivers is not an option.. Maya don't seem to start at all using those. *BIG SIGH* i really hope Catalyst 6.5 supports mobilty x1600 chipsets.....

The 2 main reasons why i bought this laptop and chose one with the x1600 GPU was:.... I wanted a decent laptop to work with 3D and Play some games spending about $2600 on this machine ... and it's not working great becouse no updated drivers... It really sux bigtime!!

3 month's now since i got my laptop... when will better drivers arrive?

I dont think they will ever come. Fujitsu Siemens has stopped delivering drivers for my notebook since 1 year (last was 5.1 Catalyst or something). Go for the Omega drivers, they are very good and they always update.

Installing a new driver gave me a boost of 100 3dmarks at stock!

ATI has released their latest 6.4 Cats for other mobile GPUs up to X700....just not the X1600. I have the same complaint. Why push this GPU so hard and then totally neglect it.

Exactly. Some of us buy cards in the "performance" or "High-End" category and pay quite hefty for this. We certanly should have more frequent and up to date drivers than what's out there at the moment. I think that's a big part of what you pay for. A card that wont perform to it's full potential becouse neglected driver updates sure aint worth the money.. I'll gladly pay the full price and then some, if i know the drivers are updated frequently. But if not... It's almost worth sending the **** back and require a refund.

Same problem here. I tried omega drivers, did nothing to the gameplay problems :( but boosted my 3dmark up almost 300 points :)
