Okay, so I had some software stolen over the weekend and I need to find the cd/serial keys for them so I can possible download digital copies from the developers.

    The following games where stolen:

    Farcry 2
    Spore Galactic Adventures
Almost all the Sims 3 expansion packs.

I've been told that on a 64bit Windows 7 system, you should look in the following registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>WINDOWS6432Node and then look in the corresponding game folder for an entry called "ergc".

I find the game folders, but not the ergc file that stores the serial numbers and I'm lost for finding my serial/cd keys so that the s that stole these games can't use them and/or register them on the developers websites.

All the games are currently installed on my HDD.

    Please help!

Try Magical Jelly Bean. It can find many keys on your drive. Also try google "keyfinder"... I used to use another program, but can't remember the name.

Keyfinders don't seem to work. Magical Jellybean doesn't support the lost games and keyfinderthing 3 doesn't either :(

I guess they are just lost.

For some reason, where the keys should be, Regedit>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>WINDOWS6432Nod etc., where every website I've been to says they should be that is, they simply aren't there.

No, but the wouldn't have the numbers on file and a high street retailer wouldn't care about replacing them anyways. I may just try to claim on my travel insurance.
