Not really. CFR is still very much an experimental SLI mode, hence why it’s not exposed in drivers today, and is not panacea, as some games can still have stability/performance issues or visual glitches with it.
30-60% scaling is quite poor compared to the 90%+ scaling of well implemented AFR, although not suffering from the same degree of input lag and microstutter as AFR is nice.
But the most damning, and relevant (or irrelevant to this particular forum), part is that it requires NvLink, which last I checked is only available on desktops. -
No matter how efficent it may be, laptops have issues right now cooling big ol' single GPUs, I don't think SLI will have a place in laptop gaming or desktop gaming. It's a bit of a shame but I think it's just too unreliable. Tho i will admit, the days of gazing at 2 gpu PCs in awe were always wonderful.
sli fans have a real reason to be happy today :)
